If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Just to add some fun to our blog, Rachel and I are offering prizes for comments left on the blog. We will randomly pick a number and when that comment gets left, that person wins a prize.

Obviously, we ask that you leave real comments but the more often you comment the more likely you’ll be to win.

Prizes will not be announced ahead of time and neither will the number of comment we’re looking for. The winner will just be announced so if you want to win you should leave a comment now and then.

*Prizes will be at the sole discretion of Lizzie or Rachel and may be “little” or “big” depending on our mood that day.

*Comments left on Facebook cannot count because we aren’t able to include them in the number count on the blog.

What did you sell this week that you’re excited about?

Leave a comment linking to an item you sold that makes you do the happy dance!

A “woo hoo” doesn’t have to sell super high. It can be something you’re thrilled to get rid of, something that you got for free and sold, something you paid little for and sold for a great price, & of course it can be something you sold that blew you away!

Whatever it is, leave a link in the comments.

If you sold something at a consignment store or rummage sale, just leave a description in the comments–we want to hear those stories too.

Guidelines:

1. The item you link to must be sold not currently for sale.

2. The item you link to must be family friendly.

3. No affiliate links accepted

4. Links may be deleted at the discretion of The Selling Sisters

Online Selling Tip of the Week

To save money when shipping large plush items:

Use a large black new trash or leaf bag as a “polymailer”  (I only do this on domestic shipments, I box international items.)

It’s easy to fold it nicely around the item and tape the edges of the bag in place.

I’ve shipped large items successfully using this method for several years.

Rachel: I was SUPER excited to see this sell in June :)

This Week on eBay

This has been a monumental week for me. I’m working on scheduling students for summer piano lessons and trying to increase the number of listings in my store so that  income from online sales can help to make up the difference. Not all of my students take piano lessons over the summer.

I was able to get my eBay inventory up to 1,150 items……..whew!

It’s a lot of work. I’m hoping to push myself to keep listing these next few weeks so I can take a little time off from listing this summer and just “coast” for a little while. I’d like to start maintaining as close to 1,200 items as I can since the Christmas buying season is just right around the corner.

Once again, I had sales on Amazon, and Bonanza this week too. My Bonanza sales are starting to become more consistent.

One thing that I’m planning to focus on over the summer is listing more on Amazon. I’ve been having about 2 sales a month on Amazon, and while I count any non eBay sale as a bonus, I’d like to work on increasing sales there. It seems to me like the fees on Amazon are a little higher than they are on eBay though.

I signed up for a membership on Bonanza.com. I  used the free version of it previously, so I’ll have to play around with the site  to see if the membership benefits help my sales.

My garage got cleaned and organized on Friday……..it feels good to have everything put away and have a clean garage :)
