This Week on eBay

Things have been hopping around here, sales have slowed down since Christmas, but it hasn’t been too bad…..I’ve sold a few  higher prices things that I was hoping would sell during Christmas, so that’s always a plus.  Sales on other venues have slowed down  too, but I still had a sale on addoway.com this week, so I was excited about that…..every little bit helps.

I’ve been doing a LOT of listing on eBay.  It took longer for me to get all settled in our house than I expected, (of course putting the holidays right in the middle of it all didn’t help any either) and I’m just now starting to feel like I’m back to normal life.  I actually had time a couple of days this week to work on some listings in the evening.  Usually I do the majority of my listings on Fridays since I don’t teach piano lessons on Fridays.  This week, I was able to get almost 70 items listed……made me feel great!  I haven’t listed that many items in a week for a LONG time.

I’m also in the process of cleaning out my store inventory and putting some of it in  the yard sale pile.  Cleaning things up a bit is always a great feeling to me too.

Hope your week is going great!

Online Selling Tip of the Week

Are your sales slow? Not as high as you ‘d like them to be?

~ Just keep listing ~

Don’t worry about it, use the down time when you’re not doing as much shipping as an opportunity to get items that need to be listed taken care of.  Sales will come, but your store needs to be stocked up and ready to go, so just keep listing :)

5 Ways to Increase Your On-line Sales in October

#1 Look for inventory every where you go

I’ve posted about this previously, but keep your eyes open and think outside the box.

Keep eBay in mind as you look through the Avon book, when you’re at the mall, Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s.  Keep your eyes and ears open for sales that make inventory affordable for you.

#2 Enlist an eBay helper ~Temporary or Long Term

This is one of those things that I think if you try, you’ll really like.  Even if it’s one day a week.  Decide what will be the most effective way to use your helper.  Will they ship?  Take pictures?  Post listings?  Shop for you?

Think about who your eBay helper can be.  Do you have an older child?  Someone in your neighborhood or church who’s looking for some part time work?

#3 Add more details to your listing

Lots of times when I look at seller’s listings, I see very basic information about an item, if anything at all.

Your items will sell faster, you’ll be able to sell them for more money, and you’ll have fewer customer questions about your items if you’ll include as much information as you can in each listing.  Even it if seems obvious, include the information, the color, the fabric content, measurements, textures, patterns on the item, etc.

#4 Try something new

There are TONS of suggestions on our blog posts, in the comments, and on our fan page not only from us, but also from our readers.

Make yourself a list of 3-5 suggestions that you’ve read or heard from online sellers, whether you think it’s something that will work for you or not, write it down, pick your top choices and implement them in your business practice.

If you continue to do what you’ve always done, you’ll continue to get the results you’ve always had.

#5 Pray over your listings

As you list your items, scroll through your store, put away items you’ve recently listed, or just whenever you think about it, pray over your items.

Ask God to bless your online store, and send customers your way.  Inviting God into your business is one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received in the business world.
