This Week on eBay

This week on eBay is off to a BANG!!!  Last week, my listing assistant and I (well, mostly my listing assistant) worked on listings one day for about 4 hours and listed nearly 75 items in my store in one day :)   As always when I do a big push to list items, I see my sales increase.  Some of the items that have been selling are from those 75 that were listed last week, but most of them are older listings that have been in my store waiting for the right buyer.

As usual, I’ve been selling several pairs of shoes. Clothes are still a big ticket item for me.  For some reason, I’ve seen a spike in my jeans sales.  Certain times of the year, they seem to sell very well.

I sold a baby blanket on Etsy this week.  I seem to sell about one item a month on Etsy right now, but also, I don’t have very much listed on there.  If you’re on Etsy, please check out my store and add me to your circle.  I’ll add you to mine too :)

This summer, I plan on making several road trips to purchase inventory.  That was so much fun when we did it last year and I love how I have lots of options available within a couple of hours of me to shop, shop, SHOP!!!

I also plan on spending some time working on more Etsy projects and trying out some other online venues that I’ve recently learned of.

Hopefully, the spring sales lull is over and I can sit back and watch the sales come in :D

This Week on eBay

I must say, this week on eBay has been pretty good.

My sales are picking up. I’m starting to sell a lot of shoes, jeans, White House Black Market skirts, American Girl items, and I even sold a Nordic wool sweater for $55, which just goes to show you, there’s never a wrong time to list something. No matter the season, have your items listed and ready to go.

I’ve done some cleaning out of my store. ( auctioned off some Boyd’s bears and Build a Bear Workshop animals that weren’t doing anything for awhile to make room for some of my new finds). It also gave me 3 Rubbermaid bins for  storing inventory items. I love selling plush, but they do take up a lot more room than jeans and sweaters do.

I haven’t had a sale on addoway, bonanza or Etsy in awhile, but I consider those sales to be little “bonuses” anyway. I’m not too worried about it, it’s just nice when I get a sale or two from other venues.

In the treasure hunting department……..I’ve been finding some worthwhile treasure:

*Athleta
*earth brand shoes
*Coldwater Creek
*Starbucks Bears
*CAbi clothes
*Dansko shoes

Hope you’re having a great week online!

Selling Strategy: List Items Every Day

I don’t know about you, but it seems like my pile of items to be listed on eBay never ends.  Sometimes it gets smaller, but most of the time, it seems to get bigger.  When you list online, it seems that the work is never done.  Job security is what I call it ;)

When I don’t have a lot of time to list everything at once, I like to do the following:

*Take pictures of everything I plan to list that week.

*Get the pictures ready

*Sort them by similar items (Jeans, shoes, DVD’s, etc)

*List 2-3 items per day.

Sometimes, it’s 5-6 items a day, just depending on what I’m listing, and how much time I have to list.

If I have time, I do like to list 15-20 items in an afternoon, but that doesn’t always work.

Life happens, and the point of being self-employed is to enjoy what you’re doing and not have to stress out about it.  If you don’t have time to list large quantities of items in a day, just list a few items every day.  By the end of the week, you’ll have listed a minimum of 21 new items if you list at least 3 items per day.

As you list new items,  different people look at your store.  Someone may be looking for that pair of shoes you just listed and find your store that way.  They may leave your store with something entirely different than what they came to your store for in the first place. That doesn’t matter.  The more you list and the more types of items you have listed, the more you’ll attract people (and most importantly, different people) to your store.

The point is to get people looking at your store.  They can’t find you if you don’t list……and it can’t sell if it’s not listed.

Happy Listing!!!

Here’s a new item I added to my Etsy shop.

Monogrammed button letters.  The first two I did are wedding presents and are different colored white buttons on muslin.

I’m experimenting with black buttons and other colors too.  Check out my Etsy shop.
