I signed up for Stamps.com several years ago and had the software installed on my desktop computer.

It has been so easy to ship my international packages from home.  I haven’t even been to a Post Office to mail a package since I got it set up.  This summer, when I moved, I got rid of my desktop computer and kept my laptop.  When I would go to www.stamps.com and log in, it told me that my account plan was not allowed to purchase postage and that I needed to change my plan…………..sigh………..

I’ve been listing some things for my brother and his wife and  a couple of items they sold were to international customers.  Having to take two items to the Post Office to fill out customs forms and pay for them caused me to say to myself  ”I’ve got to make it a priority tomorrow to get my Stamps.com account figured out.”

I tried to figure it out on my own, but I was stumped, so I called Stamps.com.

First of all, I want to say that I called in the middle of the day and the wait time was minimal. I spoke to a customer service representative who was very professional and mannerly.  I explained the issue  and she immediately knew that it was not an issue that she could resolve and transferred me to the Technical Support Department.

I was thankful for her quick judgement and could tell that their representatives are highly trained.  There’s nothing worse than calling for help and the representative tries to help you with something that’s out of their realm.  It wastes everyone’s time and frustrates the customer.

Stamps.com gets 5 stars from me in Customer Service.

The Technical Support Department answered right away and once again the representative was professional, polite, and knew exactly what he was talking about.

He could even tell from the way I answered one of his questions what browser I was using and how their program would download in that browser.  I was highly impressed.  As soon as I explained my situation to him, he knew exactly what needed to happen and walked me through the process of downloading their software to my laptop.

The version that I had been using on my desktop was much older than the current version, so he walked me through a few things, answered all of my questions and I was on my merry way. The Technical Support Department gets 5 stars from me too.

There’s nothing better than dealing with a company where their representatives know their product and their job inside and out.  I am one very happy stamps.com customer.

Online Selling Tip of the Week

Don’t go to the Post Office.

You read that right, save yourself the hassle and just don’t go to the Post Office.

Why stand in line when you can be at home listing, shipping, answering questions, or even better yet spending time with your family?

Take a few minutes to set up your

*eBay shipping

*Usps.com account

*Stamps.com account

You’ll save yourself so much time doing it all at home, you’ll absolutely LOVE it.

As soon as I see that I’m running low on PRIORITY boxes, I go  to USPS.com and order the boxes I need. They’re at my front door in just a few days. It’s much faster than making a stop at the Post Office. Once your account is set up, it just takes a few seconds to order them.

Then learn how to schedule a carrier pick up so that you don’t even have to go to the Post Office to drop off your packages.

I can’t  remember the last time I stepped foot in the Post Office. I have so much more time to work on increasing my sales.

Why I Love stamps.com

There are so many reasons why I ♥ stamps.com. There’s not enough room in this post for me to list them all for you, so I’ll just list a few for you today and save the rest for another time.

Using stamps.com is quick and easy!

Personally, I only use it for my international packages.  It’s so much faster than filling out customs forms, and standing in line at the Post Office.  Even though eBay now offers 1st Class International shipping as an option, you still have to print out the customs form separately.  With stamps.com the customs form prints out as part of the label and you have one label to stick on your package.  It’s so handy.

stamps.com can be open and running at the same time that eBay is open on your browser, which means that I can be getting a shipping label set up to ship another item on eBay while my stamps.com label is printing out.  I am HUGE on time savers and multi tasking so, this is a great benefit for me.

stamps.com doesn’t give you the option to pay for postage via paypal, but if you use your paypal debit card to pay for postage, it’s the same as paying for it with your paypal account ;)

stamps.com is a great way to send out international items that are purchased on other selling venues besides eBay.  You can manually enter a buyers shipping address, which means you can use stamps.com for items you sell on Etsy, addoway, bonanza and any other online selling venue you currently sell on.
